You might be entitled to compensation
GE Money have entered into an Enforceable Undertaking with ASIC regarding debt collection practices. They will pay compensation to consumers who can establish they have been harassed. If you think you may be entitled to compensation, you should complain to GE Money on their hotline 1300 783 854.
You will need to provide details of how you were treated about the debts you owed. If you are not satisfied with GE Money's response, you will have the option of having your complaint considered by the Banking and Financial Services Ombudsman. (Phone 1300 780 808). In most cases, there should be no need to complain to ASIC.
